Making provision during the works
The Clinic staff have asked that the first building to be done should be the Main Clinic building. This will impose a tremendous burden on the use of the much smaller and very inadaptable MCH building.
Assuming that Possibility 6 is the most acceptable, one possible solution to this problem might be to re-roof and finish the right-hand end of the building for the new Female and Male Wards but to leave the left-hand end of the building as it is now. The central section (now the Reception area) would be left un-roofed while this portion of the work progresses. When the right-hand end is finished this could then be utilised as a Clinical Area and Wards, and work would then begins on the left-hand end and the central portion.
When all of the Main Clinic building is finished the MCH building would then be abandoned and only the Main Clinic would be used for all requirements until the MCH building is finished.
The existing ablution block is currently (January 11) being drawn and studied with a view to estimating the costs involved in order to see if the present budget is sufficient to cover this aspect of the general upgrade project.
