Davis was one of our housekeepers at Flatdogs Camp.  He is pictured in the white T-shirt and baseball cap at the rear-centre of the photograph.  These are some of his and his wife's family and neighbours in the little village where they live about 18 km from Mfuwe.  The thatched house in the background is Davis' house where he, his wife and his two children live.  The house is made of mud, but Davis is hoping soon to be able to make a larger house of brick. 

There are no cows in the area because of the presence of the tsetse fly which attacks the cattle.  Therefore there is a lack of calcium in the diet and no one grows to a great height - so Johnny towers above everyone else.
