The gold-painted bridges

Double-manual harpsichord by Louis Tomasini, Paris, 1899

Berlin Musikinstrumentenmuseum Inv., No. 5080

Like the bridges on the Franco-Flemish harpsichord discussed in this section, both the 4' and 8' bridges on the 1889 double-manual harpsichord by Louis Tomasini in the Berlin Musikinstrumentenmuseum are also painted gold.  It therefore seems highly likely that Tomasini painted the bridges of the Franco-Flemish harpsichord gold as well since this is a feature not found on any historical instrument known to me.
