Marking out of the baseboard and bridges
The lateral string spacing stick is being used here to mark out the bridge-pin positions after the bridge has been glued onto the soundboard. The stick is held at a right angle to to the spine edge of the soundboard and a sharp awl placed in the notches cut into the stick marks the position of the pin in the bridge.
