The case-side mouldings and joins

Lower outer mouldings at the tail

The lower case mouldings are particularly high and are made with two separate cutters, one for the top and one for the lower section.  This moulding hides the join in the case sides used to secure the lower part of the case side.  This moulding also projects downwards below the level of the baseboard and, being quite thick projects spectacularly beyond the case sides rather like the prow of a boat.
