Louis Diémer - One of
the earliest harpsichord players of the modern era.

Louis Diémer
photographed by Étienne Carjat sometime in the 1860's. At the time of
the Exposition Universelle in 1889, Diémer would have been more
than 20 years older than he was in this photograph. Diémer gave
concerts of harpsichord
music on various antique and modern instruments which were made to celebrate the 100th
anniversary of the French Revolution which happened in 1779.
