Stringing the 'French' Ruckers aligned double-manual harpsichord

Graph of the scalings of the Ruckers 'French' double-manual harpsichord

Using the string lengths from the drawing of the Ruckers 'French' double-manual harpsichord, the figure below shows the graph of these string lengths.

The lines demarcating the red-brass-to-yellow-brass transition scalings was drawn based on a transition scaling with a c2-equivalent scaling of 8½ duimen = 216.6mm, and for the yellow-brass-to-iron transition scaling with a c2-equivalent scaling of 11½ duimen = 293.0mm.  The points at which the straight lines for these two lines cross the string scaling curves are each marked with two short vertical lines.  These occur between the two notes on either side of the material transition Therefore this graphs shows that the material transitions should occur between the notes given in the following table:

Material transition 8' Notes 4' Notes
Yellow brass to iron C#/D C/C#
Red brass to yellow brass c/c# c/c#

Please remember that in the graph above the 4' scalings are plotted one octave higher than the 8' scalings.
