Ruckers spinett virginal soundboard and front flap decoration
This drawing gives the soundboard-painting layout of the original mother part of the mother and child virginal in the Castello Sforzesco, Milan. It includes a large-scale photograph of the copy to give a colour reference as well as a full-sized photograph of the soundboard wreath painting. The drawing also includes a working drawing of the Latin motto 'MVSICA DVLCE LABORVM LEVAMEN' for the front flap of the virginal with lettering based on the size and style of other early Ioannes Ruckers harpsichords and virginals.
