Louis Diémer - One of the earliest harpsichord players of the modern era.
Louis Diémer photographed by Étienne Carjat sometime in the 1860's. Diémer would have been more than 20 years older than he was in this photograph at the time of the Exposition Universelle in 81889 when he played harpsichord music on various antique and modern instruments made to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the French Revolution.
