The outside of the case of the Franco-Flemish harpsichord

 has now been cleaned, but is not yet restored.

Are the paintings below on the outside of the case by the Martin brothers who invented vernis martin

All of these painted decorations date from the initial grand ravalement of the instrument

in Paris in about 1735 (see State 3 in A Brief History of the Instrument).
